Get Sketchy- Whimsical Wednesdays reveal

Happy Hump day fellow scrappers..
Since its Wednesday, I get to share a card I created and also a sketch that I created for Whimsical Wednesdays challenge blog..

I have been holding onto a lot of Graphic45 papers since I love them so much and normally just like looking at them and really don't want to ever use them.. <--Is there any point to that?.. I think not..LOL
I finally got the courage to use the On The Boardwalk collection that I bought a few years back and decided to make a card for my best friend who lives in Florida..
I will be sending her a small package here in a few days and thought to put this card in for the long flight..LOL

Here is my card:

Lots of layering on this card and I've really fallen in love with how the layering looks..  I used an image from the paper collection  of the three ladies.. I thought it was perfect with the sentiment I wanted to use.. all in all, I think its a cute card :)

Oh! almost forgot to share the sketch with you..LOL

and for a few close ups:

The sentiment, I stamped on a cream colored piece of cardstock, then I inked the edges and finally before adhering it to the card, I bent it a little in middle.. it almost looks like ribbon in real life..
and I couldn't make a card without adding a few punched butterflies..LOL

This sentiment can be found on the Whimsical Fun collection.

all righty then fellow scrappers and card makers... That does it again for me for this Wednesday.. Hope you stop by Whimsical Wednesdays and check out what the rest of our amazing design team have created for you..
Hope everyone has a scrap-tastic week..

Easter card- YMG DT project

Wow! is it Monday already? Since it is, I get to share a project I created as my Design Team project for Your Memories Here..
Since its was nice and sunny outside all day Sunday, I decided to create a spring inspired card and thought since Easter is right around the corner I best make an Easter themed card..
cause if I don't start making those cards now, they won't get done..LOL

Here is my first Easter card of this year..

I started with light green and white cardstock, plus some of the papers from Prima Sparkling Spring collection.. Its a 6x6 stack, so the paper is amazing for cards and small projects..

The little bird is from the Prima Resist Canvas- Printery collection.. Lots of cute little canvas cuts in that collection... I inked it with distress ink  (you could also use glimmer mist) and then add drops of white liquid pearl around the bottom of it.. pop dotted it on the card using Zapdots..
The title (easter) I cut using my cricut Imagine and Happy is stamped on white cardstock..
I also added a few Prima E-line pearls to the bottom of the card..

The little pink roses are Prima Fairytale collection..
I absolutely love these little flowers and best of all, Kristina at YMH carries them in different colors..

All right then fellow scrappers.. That's my Monday project for this week.. I hope I inspired you to start creating your spring themed cards and grabbing some Prima's goodies on the way..LOL
Hope everyone has a scrap-tastic week..

Love- Die Cut challenge SOUS

Thank god its Friday, been a long week with us having our spring brake this week.. Most of the people either went up north to ski or down south, towards the sunny beaches.. I on the other hand, stayed put to scrap..LOL
What better way to spend a holiday, right?.. I did work all week, but other than that I spent the rest of my time hidden away in my woman cave..
so, before I get carried away let me tell you about our die cut challenge this week.. our Leah chose LOVE as the theme, being that's its February the month of love..

once again, I apologize for the lighting.. I'm playing around with my camera, trying to get the best photos possible..

I decided to take this card in a whole other direction that just adding hearts, etc.. I wanted it to be unique and fun.. so, I chose the cherries from the Country Life cartridge as my die cut.. Kind of hinting towards the "you are a bowl of cherries!" or "The cherry on top!"..  Then when I looked through the stamps I got from Stephanie, I found the perfect sentiment.. since cherry's usually come in two's, the sentiment "Everything is better with you by my side!" was made for this card..LOL
I took a few close ups:

oh and I did follow a sketch when I made this card.. I found the cutest sketch on Pinterest and this is what it looks like.. You are more than welcome to take the sketch for your own card or you can find it on my Pinterest pinboard..

cute!

Time Flies- DT for WW

Is it Wednesday already and wow, has this month just flow by.. which  brings me to this weeks Whimsical Wednesdays Challenge..
TIME FLIES ( cause it really does)..
we were asked to create a card that has either a clock or wings on it.. I chose to use a clock, which I created and printed using Cricut Craftroom and my Cricut Imagine.. I have a semi short tutorial on how you can create printed images on your Imagine using CCR..just look for the video on my side bar or you can find it at youtube as well..

so, with all that said, here is the card I created:

I used the colors and patterns from Kate's Kitchen Imagine cartridge.. I love the way this card came out, with having the black framing behind all of the cuts, really brings everything out of the card..

side view.. I pop dotted most of the cuts on the card..

the stamped image and my clock..
the sentiment is not fuzzy at all on the card itself, its just bad lighting in my scraproom..
sorry about that..

You are Sew Sweet- YMH DT project

Happy Monday fellow scrappers..
Today is the day I get to share a project with you that I've created as my design team project for Your Memories Here.. I had bought a Prima grab bag from Kristina few months back and I can't believe how much stuff I still have left over and I've been making a lot of projects with it.. loving it and I can't wait till I get my new grab bag, that will have the summer 2012 new releases in it..
I think I'm going to have to invest in more storage containers, I'm running out of room..LOL
So, I decided to use up an old wooden plaque that I had bought from a thrift store about a year ago for a dollar..  Its Amazing how adding some Prima goodies can make anything look good..LOL

sorry for the semi fuzzy photo, but its mid winter here in Finland and our inside lighting is just awful..

I started off by painting the wooden plaque black, letting it dry for a few hours.. then covered it in papers, Prima lace,  Prima Fairytale roses, Prima Florette roses and leaves.. I cut a dress form out of black cardstock, using my Cricut.. made the dress out of the Printery papers, adding some black lace to the bottom and finally adding drops of white liquid pearl..
The Buttons and the alphabet stickers also came in the grab bag and the measuring tape is cut from the Printery paper.. I distress inked everything with some Ranger distress inks..

Items from my own stash: twine, string of pearl, black paint, wooden plaque, pearl hat pins and white liquid pearl..

all righty then ladies..
That's my Monday project as my Design Team project for Your Memories Here..
stop by and check out the new Prima's coming out this spring.. I'm seriously biting my nails in anticipation till i get mine..LOL
Hope everyone has wonderfully creative and scrap-happy week..

Frosty Kisses layout-DT for YMH

Living in Finland, we have long and cold winters.. Its mid February and were all freezing our tooshie's off..LOL  It hit -17F the other day, so it was nice to stay in the house, hide away in my craft room and create..
With it being so cold and the ground covered in snow, I wanted to use my Prima North Country paper collection to create a winter themed layout for my daughter..
this layout measures 12x12, but I used a 6x6 paper stack.. I love the smaller paper stacks when creating a layout that focus's on one corner, cause you won't be wasting paper, not have a lot of scraps left over and they are so inexpensive..

I used a lot of different techniques on this layout.. One being heat embossing (white snow flakes- Embossing Ink and white embossing powder) and I also did a lot of edge punching.. Made my own roses using some of the papers from the North Country collection, plus used my circles punches to punch out the snowflake images from the paper collection..

The photo is my daughter and her boyfriend Jooa, they have been together for over a year now..
You can see all of the edge punching, plus the punched snow flakes, tiny flowers and butterflies..
I brushed the edges with some distress ink so that it would stand out more..

close up of the title.. Used Zapdots to lift it off of the layout.

and finally my hand made roses.. I took three sheets of the coordinating papers from the collection and ran them through my cuttlebug along with Sizzix's Tattered Florals die.. once I had them put together, I added some Frosted Lace Stickles to the edges and then sprinkled them with white glitter.. I cut the leaves with my Cricut Imagine.
The tiny flowers have a drop of white liquid pearls in the centers..

And for the supplies I used to make this layout:

Papers by Prima:  North Country collection

and from my own stash of supplies:
light blue and white cardstock
MS punches
Tattered floral die
cuttlebug
Cricut Imagine
liquid pearls
glitter
snowflake stamp
white embossing powder..

Well fell scrappers, that's it for me for this Monday.  I want to thank you all so much for stopping by today and checking out what I've created as my DT project for Your Memories Here.
I hope everyone has a wonderfully scrappy week..

Colors of Love- DT for Whimsical Wednesdays

With Valentines Day (a.k.a my wedding anniversary) right around the corner, us girls over at Whimsical Wednesdays were challenged with a color challenge this week..  "Colors of Love!" is the theme and we were asked to use RED and WHITE on your card, plus one additional color..

Once again, I jumped at the chance of designing a card on CCR and this is what I ended up with...

I measured the card at 5" x 7" and used my cuttlebug and my dots embossing folder to add some embossing to the card.. plus, Stephanie's cute sentiment.. I'm giving this to my hubby on our anniversary..LOL

for a few close ups of the card.

I mean seriously, look how clean and crisp that stamped image is..

My little heart charm locket.. Aaaaaw..LOL

I once again I used the Whimsical Designs stamp collection:

Prima Inspired Tag- DT post

Happy Monday fellow scrappers..
I've always admired the hand made tags  that I've seen so  many wonderfully talented crafters create and for my Design Team project, I decided to give one a try..
I grabbed some of these AMAZING papers by S.E.I Windsor papers ..
I chose the brown and cream cardstock (that came in the collection) and the gold embossed papers, which is OMG, Gorgeous!!

Here is my tag:

I called this Prima inspired cause I added some of the Prima Camille roses, Mini roses and the Prima Lace trim, which I actually misted a short piece with Tattered Angels Glimmer mist in a brown.. but you could make this any color to own liking.. I think a nice soft pink one is the next tag on my list..LOL

I cut a plain piece of cardboard about 4"x6" and then started ripping at the corners and edges to try to reveal some of corrugating on the inside.. once I had done, I grabbed some Ranger paint dabbers and distress inks and just randomly started applying coats of colors to the sides and edges of the tag..
Once it had dried with a little help from my heating tool, I glued down the papers..

Here you can see the two different shades on the prima trim,  the brown one has been glimmer misted and then I used Helmers Gemstone glue to glue down the string of pearl.. I love that gemstone glue, its the best stuff when it comes to gluing down trim like pearls for instance.. dries absolutely clear!!

I took the cream colored cardtock and ran it through my cuttlebug with one of Tim Holtz embossing folders, it has clocks on it.. which I then rubbed some distress over it and then with my fingers, rubbed in some gold paint..  My mini roses were also rubbed down with some gold paint..

and finally my birdcage, which I cut out of white cardstock using my cricut Imagine.. I then painted it with gold paint, added a few drops of gold colored liquid pearl.. I also placed a piece of that gold embossed paper behind the birdcage, you can really see how beautiful that paper really is..
I attached the birdcage with Zap (foam) dots just so that it had some dimension to it..
last bit, I took some Prima leaves and rubbed those with gold paint and then adhered them to the tag, tucking them behind the flowers.. plus, I can't forget that I added a Prima button that came in my grab bag that I got from Kristina..

well ladies.. That's my Monday post this week.. I want to thank you all so much for stopping by and checking out what I've created as my Design Team project for Your Memories Here.
and don't forget.. Kristina over at Your Memories Here is taking Pre-orders for the new Prima line grab bags.. You have to check that out cause there are 6 different collections and all of them are Gorgeous..
I already put my order in..LOL
Hope everyone has a scraptastic week..
