Sketch reveal- SOUS April 26th

It's our final sketch for the month of April for SOUS and I had a lot of fun designing it and even more fun getting inspired to create my layout with it..
My daughter inherited a horse last December, he is 25 yrs young and such a big sweet heart.. She has spent the last 5 months just getting to know him, by taking really good care of him.. He is spoiled beyond belief..LOL
I've been wanting to scrap some of the many photos I've taken while I've been there with her and finally this weeks sketch inspired me to create one of my first Horse themed layouts:

Had loads of fun adding all of the die cut goodies to this layout..
most of the die cuts are from the Silhouette store, but have a few Cricut cuts as well.. Best of both worlds :)

here are some close ups:
Mr. Tulipo himself with my daughter..
he was a bit intimidating at first cause of his size, but once I got to know him, he turned out to be a big sweety with such a kind heart..
Peek-a-boo, I see you..LOL

I added lots of things to this layout that I see at the stable..
doors, hay, horse shoes, stable doors, plus the goodies my daughter cuts up for him everyday, carrots and apples that go into his evening granola.. yummy!!

Can't forget the large bags of feed we buy him and love the stalks of wheat..

for supplies used:

Silhouette Cameo
Silhouette design edition
Silhouette store

Cricut Imagine
Cricut cartridge: Old West
hay bales, feed bag, wanted sign (photo mat) and cowboy hat.

white cardstock
white marker
chalks
inks
foam tape

So glad you stopped by today to take a look at my card that I created for our card sketch reveal for Whimsical Designs..  I had a lot of fun playing with some Echo Park digital elements that came in a kit I had purchased a few weeks ago.. Love the silhouette design edition for digital kits.. So much fun and super easy to get some cute elements printed, cut and pasted on paper...
so, with that said, here is my card:

The papers are Echo Park Hello Summer as are the elements..
except for the sun, which is a die cut from the Silhouette store..

I was so happy when Stephanie asked me if I'd create a few card sketches
and this weeks card sketch was created by me..

I have a few close ups for ya:
added some yellow stickles to highlight the sun.

created some tabs, I stamped the sentiment three times onto white cardstock and then cut them apart creating a longer sentiment..  clever if I may say.LOL

Card Reveal-Flower Whimsical Designs

Happy Hump Day ladies..
I'm enjoying a day off today from work today and what better way to spend it than crafting..LOL
I created a cute little card for our challenge reveal over at Whimsical Designs using a digital stamp from Saturated Canary.. The stamp is just so adorable..
I used my Silhouette software to color her in, print her and then cut her.. took some work, but so well worth it..
Here is my card:
its a circle card that I cut with the Silhouette, adding some scalloped circles and a doily..
Some hand made flowers, since it was part of the challenge to use flowers..

hows about a few close ups:

Here you can see the doily and how I added the stamped sentiment..
I wanted something try something different with the stamp and loving how it came out

Here is a close up of Jules..
She is just adorable.. I added the skirt swirls with a white marker and some pearls for accent..

and finally my hand made flowers.. I used brads for the centers.. I have millions of brads in all shapes and colors and honestly,  I just forget to use them..LOL

Emboss it challenge-Whimsical Designs Reveal

I've been having so much fun designing and creating cards (and among other things) with the silhouette design edition software.. I've learned so much in the last few weeks on all of the magical options you have while using it.. For one, you can import any digital image/stamp to the software, color it, print it and then cut it with the Silhouette Cameo.. "WOWZAH'S!"..
This is one of the first attempts with the digital stamp and the software.. It really is so easy, just gets a little getting used to.. So, us girls over at Whimsical Designs were given a free choice of a digital image from Limited Run's Stamps.. It was a hard choice, since the stamps were all too cute.. I did however try to stick with a semi-simple one and so, chose the FIREFLY..  I decided to create a card and we were asked to use some embossing it.. I had just bought a Tim Holtz Textured Fades Embossing folder set and couldn't wait to use of them, for this card I chose the POSTCARD embossing folder.

So, here is what I ended up creating:

I really love that embossing folder, plus those firefly's.. their eyes are so cute!!

I have some close ups for you:

After embossing the marquee, I rubbed the top of it with a sanding block, showing off the white cardstock underneath the embossing..

This sentiment is so versatile, I can add any kind of text to the inside of the card to go with the cover..

My cute little firefly and some of the die cut flowers I found at the silhouette online store..

and for this challenge we have an amazing sponsor:

There are some amazingly cute digital stamps available..

for supplies used:

Silhouette Design Edition software
(design of the card)
Silhouette online store: flowers, leaves, branch, marquees.
Silhouette Cameo die cutter
Canon Home Printer

Sentiment stamps by: Whimsical Designs
Firefly digital stamps: Limited Runs

white cardstock
Embossing folder: Postcard by Tim Holtz
inks
liquid pearls: white
sanding block

well fellow scrappers.. That's my Wednesday post for this week.. Do stop by Whimsical Designs and check out what amazing projects our design team has created for todays reveal..

Beach Days Mini Album-Die cut reveal SOUS-pic heavy

After working on this mini album for a week, yes you read that right, a WHOLE week..LOL  I'm so happy to finally be able to share it with you.. There will be lots of photos, so sit back and relax.. Its going to take some time to go through them all..
Us girls were challenged this week with a SEA die cut challenge, meaning you can use any die cut that has anything to do with the sea.. The choices are endless...
soooo anyway, I created this mini album for my niece Kaia who just got into Florida University and is working hard to get her degree.. She has big plans on becoming a doctor.. Go Kaia!!!
I asked her permission to get some photos of her and her friends from her facebook album and this is what I ended up with:

here is the cover.. I kept semi simple, but did use some techniques that I've never used before.. I created some fake sand using Gesso, fake snow and liquid distress ink.  Then added some stickles to it..
the album cover I created myself with a sand castle die cut and a cereal box as I did for the pages as well..

I added a few charms, ribbon and twine..

Here are the first two pages..

My nice is on the right with her best friend Tess..

Title phrases I found in the Silhouette store.

everything except for the crab is from the Silhouette online store and I also added some Echo Park Summer elements which were a digital kit I had bought..

Pages 3 and 4..

What a fun page.. loved the fun title and goes perfectly with this photos :)

s

I love being able to weld a photo to any die cut using the Silhouette design edition software then being able to print it and cut in any shape.. Its how I was able to get perfect circles for these photos..

My favorite pages!! pages 5 and 6

Had a lot of fun playing with the fish net..

The shell is from Cricuts: Paper Doll dress up

the last pages!

The hat is from Kate's ABC's, flip flop and surf board are a Silhouette cutting file..

I also printed a Echo Park element for this page..

the last page.. I created a big pocket.. I figured she could add more photos in there, some journaling and maybe any other items to her choosing..

Cute little bikini and then the fish net, but I cut in white this time..

Whew!! that was a lot of photos..LOL
but I had so much fun creating this album for my niece and I'm so happy stopped by and took a look at it..Hope you find some time to stop by SOUS and check out what amazing projects our design team members have created for this challenge..
Till next time, I hope everyone has a scrap-tastic weekend
