Sand + Sun = Fun-SOUS

I'm probably sitting happy and warm on the Beach some where in Florida as you lovely ladies are viewing my layout..LOL
sorry to be so cruel..LOL :O)
And speaking of beaches in Florida, these photos are of my daughter and I back in the summer of 1993, when we still lived in Palm Beach Co, Florida.. I was very pregnant with our eldest son Aaron and we decided to go to the beach with my mom and her friends (not pictured)..
My dd was very scared of the water, but got brave and ventured in after a whole lot of trying to talk her into it.  :O)
Well, aaaaaaaanyway, SOUS is having its Friday reveal again today, we did not have a sketch to work with this week, instead we were challenged with a "Summer Inspired!" theme..

Secret Identity-Sous Reveal

Hey, hey hey!! Its once again Fri-fri-friday..LOL
so many wonderful reasons to celebrate Friday..right?
ok... lets get to one of those great reasons..
Friday reveal at SOUS..woo hooo..
so, I've been working on another mini..big surprise there right?..LOL
and how perfect for this weeks challenge to use Stars and Stripes..
I was able to use it for this two pager in the mini I'm making my best friend for her little Jack Russel "´Chopper!"..who is about the cutest little thing in this world.
The title and the theme of the page came from some photos of chopper that I had seen wearing  superman outfit.. I thought it was so super cute...
So, here is the two pager:

Ok..so, the page on the right is so cool.. I added a flap and then I added a triple flip photo mat.. "Go Me!"..LOL
I'll post those flip photos here and then in a few days when I actually have the whole mini done, I will just post the main photos there..

so, here the mat is flipped up, there is a pull out photo mat on the bottom, a tag in the middle and a photo mat on the top.
:
and here its flipped down: Pull out photo mat on the top and journaling spot on the bottom.
and then flap flips open to reveal a photo mat as well..

I won't be listing the supplies used on this post since I will be reposting the whole album here in just a day or two.. Sunday the latest.. depends on how busy my next few days will be..
So, with that I want to thank you ladies so much for looking and do come back to see the finished mini in a few days.. So, this is kind of a sneak peak if you will..  :O)
oh!! and most importantly do stop by SOUS this week.. the challenge is pretty easy and there is no sketch to follow, so you can just do what ever your heart desires.. as long as your heart desires stars and stripes..LOL
Hugs and have a wonderfully creative weekend..

Friendship Mini album-Mamarazzi-Generations Crafting

I'm so disappointed.. I had so much fun making this mini, that I wish I didn't get it finished yet...LOL
I will be giving this to my dd Amber today.. she was eyeballing it Saturday evening when her and her boyfriend came over for a cook out..
I know she will love it and since she has so many friends, I added a lot of hidden tags, photo mats and journaling spots.. I hope she will finish the album and soon..LOL
I can't wait to see it when its full of love..
Here is the front cover..
I bought some transparency sheets and cut a few and added one to the cover. I tucked a few tags underneath.
stamped the corners, added some flowers and then a clock rub on ..
inked all of the edges..
Page one:
there is a tag pocket on the left side and a bigger pocket on the right.. I have made a little booklet that just slips under that right pocket.. (not pictured)
Page two:
Big pull out tag on the left with a photo mat behind it and a flip up picture mat on the right, hidden tag on the top.
Page Three:
This is by far my favorite page.
Clear Transparency sheet which I stamped the edges and added some rub on words, added a big photo mat tag, I embossed the tag using Tim Holtz embossing Folder, looks like an old brick wall.  cut a tag from the paper set, little double heart charm and Tim Holtz chain,.Then on the right side is a flip up photo mat, with a small photo booklet underneath. (not pictured).
Page four:
Used some of the text paper and cut a strip to make it into a pocket, added two photo mats and then some flowers and Webster's Sparklers (thank you Generations crafting )
Page Five:
Little photo booklet that flips to the left to reveal three pages on one side and two on the other.. corner tag pocket on the right side with a photo tag..some prima flowers and black brads.
Page six:

Here I have added two photos.. One with the photo mat open and one with it closed..
Hidded tag on the right hand side and some Prima flowers

Forever in our Hearts-SOUS reveal

Another warm and sunny Friday upon us and that means its reveal time again at SOUS..
We at SOUS decided not only to have a sketch this week, but adding a color challenge to is as well
So, we were to use Red, White and Blue..
and Here is the layout I created for this challenge:

*sorry the lighting was a bit off this morning..and here is the sketch:

I went through some of my grand mothers old photo albums again and found these photos of her.. In the upper photo is of her, my little brother and my grand mothers new puppy.. This photo was taken back in the summer of 1974, I think..  and I'm thinking the bottom photo is older cause the doggy in the photo was my moms just as I was born. I have plans on getting a nice white shadowbox frame for layout and giving it to my mom.. I know she will love it and the colors match her home decor perfectly..
Here are some close ups:
Aaaw. I miss her so much..
alrighty then..now for supplies used..

Papers: Joy's Vintage by Paper Pizazz
cardstock: white

Flowers:
Prima (big roses, big white flower, vine and blue hydrangeas)
Mulberry: Little roses and red flowers

Martha Stewart edge punch
Cricut cartridges:
Home Accents: Butterflies
Home Decor: Title: "Forever"
Songbird: Title "in our HEARTS"

White lace ribbon, cream lace ribbon
gold dots
liquid pearl: baby blue
Tim Holtz distress inks: Antique Linen and Old Paper
Tim Holtz Crackle Paint: Picket Fence (oh that was so much fun to use)
Glimmer mist: Frost
gel pen for dots

and just a quick update on whats going on in my life right now since I mentioned a few things in a previous post..LOL
My oldest son Aaron got accepted to the school he applied for.. so out of 326 applicants for this one class, only 60 were chosen and my son was one of the lucky chosen few.. I'm so EXTREMELY proud of him for this accomplishment..
and then my dad.. He had the liver surgery and it went superb.. he wants to go home desperately but the doctors still want to keep him for a week just to keep an eye on him.. I guess his blood pressure is still fluctuating and its better he stays and has that taken care of..  I actually called him Tuesday and told him to stay put and not be so stubborn and in any hurry to go home to an empty house.. He has a wife, but she is the sole provider right now and needs to work..

well ladies..That should do it for this week's challenge.. I know we are all super busy enjoying the summer and having some time off..but, I still hope you get a minute to stop by SOUS and check out what the rest of the fabulous design team has created for us..
Hope everyone has a wonderful 4th of July, party hardy and eat well..  ;O)
Hugs
