Ships A'Hoy Shadow Box-Die Cut reveal-SOUS

Us girls over at SOUS are having our die cut reveal today and we played around with a theme this week.. The them is "In The Water!".. meaning, add die cuts to your projects that have to do with water..
I wanted to create something special for my mom and this was a perfect opportunity to use one of our cruise photos from last fall and I created a shadow box for her..
Can you believe I created the entire thing out of cardstock?
So much fun and it was actually a lot quicker than I could of ever imagined..

how about some close ups:

Theirs a photo of my mom standing in front of the ship we were about to board..
In this side view, you can see how deep those boxes are.. I didn't want anything to lay flat inside of them, so most everything is being held up with little legs I created out of cardstock..

One of my favorites here.. Love how I clustered all of these goodies and by the way, these are all digital elements (except for the coral, that's a die cut) I made into cutting files using the SIL software.. fun and easy!!

The little paper beads in the bottom box, well thats actually a digital element that I printed and cut with Cameo.. They look pretty real don't they?..LOL

I also wanted to add some of the digital elements to the top of the shadow box along with some packing twine.. a flat look would of been boring..

I also added some fun sayings and a few banners, plus the cute little crab..
I decided to add a faux wood look to the edge of the box and also added some packing twine to just add another fun element..

alrighty then, that's my project for this weeks die cut reveal..
I'm seriously hooked on these shadow boxes and they are some much fun to decorate..
Can't wait to start designing my next one :)

So, do stop by SOUS and check out what fun and amazing projects the rest of our design team has created for todays reveal..
Till next time..
have a scrap-tastic weekend

Welcome Baby-PPPR DT reveal

Hi fellow crafters...
I'm here today to share a cute little baby card I created for my daughters friend who is pregnant with her third boy :)  This is my design team project for Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons..

Here's the card I created:

one of my favorite color schemes that's for sure :)

I created this using several cutting files..
Baby Shower cutting file for the gift bag, pacifier and the baby bottle
Then I used the Changing Time cutting file for the baby powder and finally the Layered Labels 1  cutting file for the background and the title card..

how about a few close ups:

I added some liquid pearl drops for detail and attached everything with foam tape..

I ended up adding the bottles in front of the handle even though I really wanted them tucked behind it..
I felt like it would of lost the view of the amazing details these cutting files have..
but, they would been fun as pull out tags, why didn't I think of that sooner.. Doh!!..LOL
There you have my post for today..
Thank you for stopping by and checking out my post..
Hope you have a scrap-tastic week

Florida mini album

I decided to create a mini album show casing some of our photos from one of our vacation trips to Florida.   As most of you already know, although I was born here in Finland, I was raised in Florida and kids (3) were all born there  before we moved here to Finland back in 1996.. So our visits are always spent with family and friends since we see them so rarely ..
Here is what I created:

This is an all hand made chipboard covered 8x8 mini album..
I used lots of the fun die cuts from the "Are We There Yet?" cutting file..

and now for the inside, which took me about a week to create, but once I started, I couldn't stop and this will be filled with lots of fun photos from our vacay that I have some where in one of the many photo boxes I have..LOL
*I will list all of the cutting files at the bottom of the post to make it easier for you to check them out..

click on the photos to make them bigger ...

pages 1 and 2
Wanted a fun page to remind us of flying out of Helsinki,  usually a loooong lay over in London till we get on our plane to Miami :)  The album is still a bit stiff in the binding, so this was a bit hard to photograph and I didn't want to force it to open more, ripping anything accidentally..

Pages 3 and 4..
The large circle luggage is actually a flip down tag for me to add lots of journaling to about our flight and who we met on the plane.. Once, we actually flew on the same plane with Ronnie James Dio (who has since passed away from stomach cancer), the lead singer of the heavy metal band Dio.. That was amazing and what was even better was my young boys recognized him before I did..LOL!!

Pages 5 and 6
This is for us, mom and dad..LOL
We love to enjoy cool drinks and just sit out in the sun.. I tend to drink coffee regardless of the temperature though..LOL   Loved adding the orange slices randomly to the pages reminding me of Florida oranges..

Pages 7 and 8
This page is dedicated to our family's.. I want to add photos of grammas and grampas, plus cousins to these pages..

pages 9 and 10
We always do a lot of shopping while in the States :)
I tend to shop for crafting supplies (big surprise there) and my hubby's always shopping for tools that he needs for his car repair and service shop he has here in Finland..

pages 11 and 12
We are not in anyway health nuts, but living here in Finland, we don't eat donuts for breakfast.  My son Adam, at the time age 13, asked me if we could have  Donuts for breakfast while we were in the States, my answer was YES and we did..LOL
I thought that was worth scrapping about..

Page 13 and 14
We usually always tend to drive up north to Iowa to visit my in-laws..
So,  I wanted to incorporate that into my album..

I love you more than-PPPR reveal

Hi fellow crafters..
I want to share a card I created for Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbon using some of fun cutting files from her shope..  Flower Assortment cutting file Falling leavesLayered Labels 1 and Valentines Sweet's cutting file..

I've been wanting to create my own roses for a while now.. Used to make them all the time, but some how I just started making other stuff and now felt like no time like the present..LOL
Here is the "Sweet" card I created:

Love love love the flower assortment cutting file..

So many amazing flowers to choose from and the heart petals were perfect for a rose and the rose buds..

How about some close ups and details:

I decided to add drops of glossy accents to create the wet look..

Added big pearl halves to the middle of the red flowers and then I found some red stamens in my stash which I glued to the center of the roses and rose buds using glossy accents.

I created the title using some fun fonts and the heart is from the lollipop in the Valentines Sweet's cutting file along with the chocolate dipped strawberry's.. Yum! :)

close up of the strawberry's.. I decided to print and cut those with the shadow instead of cutting each individual layer.. added some glossy accents to it as well.. went a little crazy with that stuff, but it happens..LOL

Here are the cutting files I used:
