Project Life-SunnyDay-SOUS

I'm really enjoying creating these Project Life pages.. But who ever said they were quick, wasn't as picky about the details as I am..LOL  They pretty much take me just as long as my regular layouts do, but I like the scrappy look to them :)
So, for this weeks challenge we were asked to use any sun shape on our page.. I decided to add a digital sun on my week card.. I tucked nicely behind a tag :)

We celebrated my son Aaron's 20th Birthday a few weeks ago and decided to use that for this weeks challenge..

How about some close ups:

I made him a chocolate cake ( his fav)..

I bought him a new bedroom set (bedding, curtains and deco pillows) as a Bday gift..
I created the calendar tag myself, so easy with the software..

The cake is a die cut , but used the print only option.. adding the font and a digital element..

He also got a new pair of Dockers, which he loved by the way..LOL

for supplies used to create this page:

SIL Cameo
SIL designer edition
Canon printer
white cardstock
Digital papers and elements
die cuts: balloons and cake from SIL store

Disney-Die Cut S.O.U.S

I absolutely love anything Disney, but living in Finland, I rarely get the chance to use Disney die cuts.. But, who says you can only use them on Disney themed layouts right?..So, a few weeks ago I spent a week at my husband car repair shop and being the Momma-razzi that I am, snapped a few photos while I was there..LOL   I decided to put some of the CARS die cuts to good use and created a fun guy layout of my three guys..
I used "the King!" die cut above my hubby's photo cause he "thinks" he's the king..LOL
I also added lots of fun elements I found in the SIL store (tires, tools and tire tracks)
Lightning McQueen is from Cricuts "Cars" cartridge and so are the fun title phrases.  I found the little oil canisters in a digital kit I had bought a few weeks ago, which came with the papers I used for this layout..

How about some close ups:

decided to go with the "hot roddin'" since my hubby gets a lot of classic hot rods to service every spring..

who doesn't love McQueen sticking his tongue out, plus it seems my kids do that a lot, even as adults..LOL

Love the tires and the tracks... I actually bought a "card" from the SIL store that had the tire tracks on it and just edited the card with the cutting tool..

How cute is this guy?..LOL  This is so my youngest son, the sweet one..

wanted to add like a row of tires and some tools, kind of like the real shop has..

Pile It On Challenge-Whimsical Designs

I think the title of the post has my name written all over it..  As you know, I love to just "pile it on"..LOL
But for this weeks challenge, I really wanted to think outside of the box and create something I've ever made before..Plus, I created some of my very own die cuts using the SIL software..
To the goodies I say:
The ship I created myself with some squares that I edited with the editing tool and then circles.. I really like the end result :)  and actually I saved 0.99 cents not having to buy a cut file :)  Go me!!

How about some fun close up of all the layers:

side view of the step card..

better side view.. All of my little fishes are added with little pieces of bent paper.. not sure the technical term for it, but makes them look like they are floating..

my floating fish and waves..

and it wouldn't be my card if it didn't have some kind of floral element..LOL  love this die cut that I found in the SIL store: "Tropical Set" by Ms.Kate.

and finally my boat and the cute little sentiment that was behind this creation (literally)..LOL

and for this weeks challenge we have a great sponsor.

so hope you find some time to play along and you couldn't have a chance at winning a * $15.00 gift certificate to Paper Parade..

for supplies used to create this card:

Silhouette Cameo

(die cuts: tropical flour, fish, sun, clouds, waves, card base and life saver)

Sketch reveal-S.O.U.S

Helloooooo fellow scrappers.. I'm so excited to share today's project with you.. It took me a whole two days to get the design done and to make it all come to life.. I was so excited with my shadow box that I had created for Wednesdays reveal for Whimsical Wednesdays that I wanted to create another.. Only this time I bought the 12x12 (11 3/4x 11 3/4) shadow box and sized it down to a 8x8.. Go me!!..LOL  I also wanted to create something special for my son Aaron's girlfriend Mari.. They have been together for over a year now and she has become a big part of our family..
So, this is what I ended up with:

Once again using one of my favorite photos.. I did some FB stalking and found this photo in photo files..LOL

Here is the sketch I designed and used for this "layout":

How about some close ups:

The top of the shadow box.. sorry its a bit blurry..

Added some film strip that I cut out of black cardstock, bent it a bit to pop it off the frame..

Loved the title phrase.. found that in the SIL store and thought it was a perfect element for this layout..
I also added some butterflies, flowers and a flourish trim around the page..

Here you can see how everything is popped off of the page using foam tape.

close ups of the flower cluster and of my son Aaron.. He's such a handsome young man and I'm not just saying that being his mom..LOL

side view of the rose and the cluster, I added black leaves and grey stems.. Both files are from the SIL store..
here's a close up of my son's girlfriend Mari and of the embellishments I added to the bottom right corner.. The sentiment strip is a digital element from Echo Park that I cut using my cameo..

Favorite Color challenge-Whimsical Designs reveal

Happy Humpty hump day fellow crafters.. After enjoying 4 weeks of summer vacay, I had to go back to work the day before yesterday.. *sigh!!!  but while I was enjoying my time off, I was able to concentrate on some real fun projects..
For todays challenge we were asked what our favorite color combination was and I answered with "light blue,  brown and cream!" YUM!  Our sponsor (The Paper Parade) for this challenge sponsored each of the design team members with a product package that met our color combo needs.. I was beyond lucky and got to work with one of my favorite paper manufactures: AUTHENTIQUE.  The papers I used for my project is the HOPE collection by Authentique..

so, lets get to my project shall we:
I decided to create a 5x7 shawdow box and I got the file from the SIL store..This is one of my all time favorite photos of my boys when they were little.. It puts a big smile on face every time I look at it.. I scanned the original photo and then printed it in Sepia to match the colors..

sorry this photo isn't all that great, but just want to show what the file looks like in the store and the price is awesome.. You can do anything you want with this file, fun colors and prints..  Plus its pretty light weight so you can stick to wall with ease if you wish..

side view.. you can see how deep the box is, but its awesome to have all that room to add lots of goodies off of the page..
the little wooden dowels I used for legs I got as a gift from Stephanie from Whimsical Designs..
I added the papers to background and around the edge, plus I also got some ribbon trim by Fancy Pants design to match my color palette so added some of that around the edge along with some twine..

How about some close ups:

the bottom left corner.. lots of fun elements and decided to use one of the sentiments onto the puzzle piece..
I also used the sticker words around the bottom.  I know its a bit difficult to read them with the quality of the photo, but they say "Cute", "Surprise", "Memories" and "Friends"..

The whole cluster..  Now I know why they call it a shadow box, there is a constant shadow on the top part of the box..LOL  I could not get any photos without it..  :)

The bottom right corner.. The little word sticker says "Remember".  I also added some "say it with pearls" and a few more flowers and a puzzle piece..

I used some of the alphabet stickers on top of the photo, spelling out "brothers"..

The top of the box looked like it could use a little something, so I added some floating puzzle pieces and lots of flowers and leaves..  The floating look I created with adding some little flaps to the back of the puzzle pieces and gluing them down to the box..

so once again, I want to give a big thank you to our awesome sponsor for this weeks challenge without their generosity, I would not have been able to create this shadow box with these amazing papers and the fun ribbon trim..

Date Tag-Project Life reveal-S.O.U.S

I've been having so much fun creating these Project Life pages.. I read some place that they are suppose to be quick to make, but I've noticed that mine take a long time cause I'm such a sucker for detail...LOL
For this weeks project life page, I decided to use photos from our road trip we took the week before last.. I hadn't seen my grand father in 15 yrears, so we decided to take a drive up north.. Took us just over 4 hours to get there, with a few stops on the way.
Here is my take on this weeks Challenge:
all of my pages will be in a big 12x12 chipboard album..

How about some close ups:
I added a DAY tag.. adding the day we left for our drive..plus some journaling to remember why we took the road trip.  I will have all of my pages in weekly order, so I decided to no label this week with a number of the week title card..

a photo of my mom and my hubby..I took this at our first stop to stretch our legs..

My hubby took a photo of me as we were driving.. you can barely see my hair on the left side of the photo..LOL

I also added a fun tag next to a photo of my mom eating some ice cream at the next rest stop we decided to stop at..

Here is a close up of the other journaling tag I added with some ice cream die cuts..

and finally the title card.. I found this cute road trip die cut in the SiL store. The car and buttons are a digital element that I was able to print and cut using the SIL software..

for supplies used:

Silhouette Cameo
Silhouette Design Edition software (creating the cards)

Canon Printer
digital paper: Cherries Jubilee: sweet shoppe designs
digital elements: Echo Park: all boy (buttons, cars, stop sign)

die cuts: road, ice cream, street sign, tag and phrase (SIL store)
