Project Life challenge reveal-SOUS-Vellum

Have you started on your Project Life album yet? Well, I just started on 2014..  I decided to do it a bit differently this year than last year.. I will be creating the album from cardstock and chipboard.. It will measure 8x8 instead of the normal 12x12..  This way, I can keep it two pages instead of one..
So, for this weeks Project Life challenge for us girls over at SOUS, we were asked to use VELLUM on our PL spread and I decided to create a pocket :)

I once again designed my own cards with some fun fonts and elements that I found in the SIL store.. Some of the elements I created myself, like the large arrow pointing down :)

Here is what the design looked like in the SIL software:

How about some close ups:

here 's the vellum pocket I created..

and there ya have my first PL spread for the year 2014 :)
Do stop by SOUS and check out the great PL spreads that our design team has created for this challenge and we have a great sponsor for this month, so do play along..
till next time, hope you have a scrap-tastic week

"Love is in the Air!" Blog Hop-PPPR

Welcome to Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons "Love is in the Air" Blog Hop..
You should of arrived here from MELISSA'S blog, but if you just stopped by and want to join the hop, please click HERE and you'll get redirected to the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbon's blog..

For today's hop, us girls were asked to create a project with the theme LOVE and using the cutting files from the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbon store.  I decided to go with a card.. Our wedding anniversary is on Valentines day and I thought to make my hubby a card.. Its for a guy, so had to stick with a semi masculine look.

I am totally in love with how cute this card turned out:

how about a few close ups:

I love using the SIL software.  One of my favorite options is the "print only" feature.  I was able to print the sentiment right onto the card base.. Great when you don't have that sentiment you need :)

for the tree of hearts, I used the tree frame from the "Autumn Tree cutting file!" and added the hearts which are from the title phrase on the "Hot Cocoa cutting file!".. I just re-sized them my liking..

and how cute is this little beaver?.. He's on the "Forest Critters cutting file!"  I cut him in layers and added some chalk to the edges..
I used the cup filler from the "Hot Cocoa" cutting file for the pond and then added a tiny heart on a string to the tip of the stick the beaver is holding onto..

The scalloped card base is from the "Scalloped Circle!" cutting file.. I used two of them, flipping one above the other and welding together..

and now for the rules of the HOP and LOVE challenge:

The blog candy for this hop is a $15 GC to the PPPR store.

Snow Adorable-Die Cut reveal-Snowman

It's our first die cut reveal at SOUS for the year 2014 and for the month January, our very own Leah is hosting our challenges and has created out sketches.   For today's die cut reveal, we were asked to use a SNOWMAN on our project.. I decided to once again create a layout and used the die cuts from the SIL store..

Here is what I created:
The photos are of my son Aaron when he was younger..

*I once again apologize for the bad lighting.. Its just impossible to get a half way descent photo during this time of year..

I have some good close ups though:
I actually had planned on adding different photos to the layout, but could not find them..So, added my sons even thought I used pink as an accent color :)

Added faux snow onto the snowman..
oh and there is a car in that pile of snow behind my son..LOL

I used a white stamp pad and randomly stamped snowflakes onto the black cardstock.. Then added "clear rock candy" distress stickles onto the snowflakes..

for supplies used to create this layout:

Silhouette Cameo
Silhouette Designer edition software
Canon home printer

Digital papers
black and white cardstock
Faux snow Deco Art
Clear Rock Candy Distress Stickles
foam tape

SIL store:
Snowman
Pine cones
Snowflakes
ice skates
snow flake border
doily
And there ya have it fellow crafters, my layout for todays reveal for us girls over at SOUS..
do stop by and check the amazingly cute projects that our design team has created for todays reveal and we have a great sponsor for this  month, so do play along...

so, here is my take on this weeks sketch:

remember to click on the photo to make it bigger :)

Can you believe I actually used my Cricut?..LOL  Yeah and I also used the Snow Friends cart that I've forever and I don't think I've ever used it :) except for now of course...

How about some close ups:

The title is from the Winter Frolic cartridge..

Snowman number 1.. Love using Peachy Keen facial stamps and that bucket is from "Life's a Beach!"

snowman number 2.. I added Star dust Stickles to the edges of the snowmen..
the background border is a SIL cutting file..

side view.. I created bunches of snow to hang on the title and corner of the photo.. The snowflakes are from the "Winter Lace" cartridge.. The photo frame is a SIL file..

for supplies used:

Cricut Imagine

Life's a Beach

Project Life- 3 label Strips

Hello fellow lifers... I've got a fun Project Life spread I want to share with you today..
I don't have small kids anymore, I don't travel much and I live a pretty boring life..LOL  So, to find a topic to create my Project Life pages sometimes is a challenge.  I do however, love to bake and cook, so I've decided to add my baking skills to my Project Life pages.. Which those of you who have stopped by and taken a look at some of my pages, seems like every other week I'm baking something..LOL

For today's reveal over at SOUS we asked our amazing design team to add 3 labels strips to their PL spread and let me just tell how how wonderful everyone's pages turned out and so, here is mine:

I love grabbing a cup of coffee and sitting in front of my computer and designing my own cards instead of buying ready made ones, which of course would make my life just a tad bit easier, buying ready makes ones of course..LOL
Living in Finland has its limits when it comes to buying supplies and its one of many reasons why I love my Silhouette Cameo and the DE software.. makes life easier!!
I've been hoarding digital scrapbook kits for the last few months (Black Friday sales are so hard to resist) and I've been using those to create my cards with.. lots of fun prints, colors and digital elements to chose from.
I like being to add my journaling right onto the card without having to hand write it, makes it quick and actually looks pretty neat..

I don't have close ups for you today, sorry about that.. But its already dark when I get home from work and trying to take a half way descent photo is a miracle..
But do stop by SOUS and get inspired today and get started on your 2014 project life album.. We lots of wonderful examples for you and do play along with us girls..
Till next time, hope you have a scrap-tastic week
