Project Life- 3 label Strips

Hello fellow lifers... I've got a fun Project Life spread I want to share with you today..
I don't have small kids anymore, I don't travel much and I live a pretty boring life..LOL  So, to find a topic to create my Project Life pages sometimes is a challenge.  I do however, love to bake and cook, so I've decided to add my baking skills to my Project Life pages.. Which those of you who have stopped by and taken a look at some of my pages, seems like every other week I'm baking something..LOL

For today's reveal over at SOUS we asked our amazing design team to add 3 labels strips to their PL spread and let me just tell how how wonderful everyone's pages turned out and so, here is mine:

I love grabbing a cup of coffee and sitting in front of my computer and designing my own cards instead of buying ready made ones, which of course would make my life just a tad bit easier, buying ready makes ones of course..LOL
Living in Finland has its limits when it comes to buying supplies and its one of many reasons why I love my Silhouette Cameo and the DE software.. makes life easier!!
I've been hoarding digital scrapbook kits for the last few months (Black Friday sales are so hard to resist) and I've been using those to create my cards with.. lots of fun prints, colors and digital elements to chose from.
I like being to add my journaling right onto the card without having to hand write it, makes it quick and actually looks pretty neat..

I don't have close ups for you today, sorry about that.. But its already dark when I get home from work and trying to take a half way descent photo is a miracle..
But do stop by SOUS and get inspired today and get started on your 2014 project life album.. We lots of wonderful examples for you and do play along with us girls..
Till next time, hope you have a scrap-tastic week
Hugs

Sketch challenge reveal-SOUS

Welcome to our last sketch reveal for 2013 over at SOUS..
This weeks sketch is by me :) and I had a blast with it..  I dont' have a photo for my layout since the holidays kill me.. Between juggling work, Xmas shopping, crafting, cooking and cleaning, I've just run out of time to search my box of photos for a photo for this layout.. But, after the holidays I will be back to normal :)

So, here is my take on this weeks sketch:
Aaaaw..LOL

I used my Silhouette software to design this layout and it was so much fun to see it come to life..
Here is what it looked like on my monitor:
It's a bit darker on the computer than how it ended up printing..LOL

and how about some close ups:

cute wittle birdys

Snow flakes and liquid pearls..

love this cute little girl.. I actually found her at the Kaboodle cutting files store when they had their Black Friday sale.. You can check their files by clicking HERE..

For the snowman: The little girl above holds a pumpkin, but I made that pumpkin into this snowman head and have her holding a bird instead..

my hanging hearts..  Added some faux stitching..

and finally the cute little bird and buttons that are on the bottom.. the little snowflakes are the cut outs from the border and didn't want to throw them away, so added them to the layout :)

and now for the supplies used:

Silhouette Cameo
Silhouette designer edition software (to cut svg's)
Canon printer
White cardstock

digital paper kit: Christmas Joy
Sweet Shoppe Designs

SVG's:
Girl sitting, snowman hat and scarf, birds and hearts.

SIL store:
title phrase, Buttons, snowflakes and border

distress inks: Brushed corduroy, Tumbled glass and Fired brick
White liquid pearls

Happy Holidays card- PPPR reveal

Happy humpty-hump day fellow crafters..
Its another reveal day for us ladies over at Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbon..  For today's reveal, I decided to play with the Snow Globe cutting file and created a card, actually I ended up making 4 cards cause I liked the design that much..LOL
Here is what I created:
I actually love the color palette I used.. I love playing with different colors and so glad I used the dark plumbs and creams..

for the card base, I created a shadow using the "offset" in the Silhouette software, then flipped it so that I had two bases one above the other, making sure I welded at the top, creating the flip card..
I also added faux stitching around the edge with the Silhouette software, printing it to my card..

How about some close ups:

Title work.. I like how it looked going over the side edges..

my snow flakes.. Those are from the snow flakes cutting file..
I layered them, adding a plum background cream and then more plum..

I used foam dots to attach them to the card..
and here you can see the faux stitching a bit better..

layered the bottom of the globe with foam tape to add dimension..
also added a few pearl halves..

for supplies used:

Silhouette Cameo
Silhouette Designer edition
(to cut svg's)
Canon printer

White cardstock
distress inks: Weathered Wood and Antique Linen
foam tape
pearl halves

SVG files:

Title phrase: Sil Store
digital papers: Catch a Snow Flake

and there ya have it fellow crafters..
My snow globe card and I did actually send out several to some of my all time favorite people :)
Do stop by Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbon and check out what fun and amazing projects the rest of the design team has created for todays reveal.. Till next time, I hope you have a scrap-tastic week..

Tabbed Card-Project Life challenge-SOUS

Hellooooo fellow lifers..
Are you thinking about starting on your project Life album next year? you know its only a few weeks away right?.. Well, let us girls over at SOUS inspire you and help you get started..

I know when I first started making my PL spreads, I wasn't sure what on earth I was doing but its been a few months now and lets just say, I think I got the hang of it..LOL
I don't have the luxury of buying the ready made kits for PL, but I am lucky enough to be able to create my own cards using the Silhouette software, I can make them personal and original.. So much fun designing my cards with die cuts, digital elements and lots of free fonts to choose from..

Here is what my PL spread looked like in the Silhouette software:

Once I printed everything and cut the individual cards, my spread looked like this:
The colors are nice and rich , but this photo just doesn't do it justice.. living at the north pole has its disadvantages, like no sun all winter :(  So trying to take a half way descent photo is almost impossible..

how about some close ups:

for my tabbed card, I decided to go with a recipe card.. No exact measurements, but the steps on how I created my very first Pumpkin pie from scratch.. I sacrificed my Halloween pumpkin since I knew it would end up in the trash eventually :)  No sugar pumpkins available here, so had to do with what was available..

here's a pic of my pumpkin.. It stayed pretty for a very long time, since I didn't carve it this year.. just used it as a decoration in my living room..

I found this cute book which is a digi element and wanted to do some personal journaling on it..*I actually hate searching for recipes and then find one that calls for a boxed cake mix, those ready made materials aren't available here, so I prefer the "from Scratch" recipes..  You wouldn't believe what all I have to make from scratch..LOL

my week title card.. I decided to create a long card for this weeks spread.. came out really pretty, just wish I had used the outline print option (SIL software) on this card like I had done with the others.. I think the elements would of popped more..

and finally my ready made pie.. It was really tastey, only thing I will do differently next time is to make sure the pumpkin is a real fine puré..

and there ya have it, my PL spread for this weeks challenge..
Do stop by SOUS and check out the amazing spreads our Design Team has created to inspire you with..
Till next time, Have a scrap-tastic week

Gift Giving Blog Hop-PPPR

Welcome to Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Gift Giving blog hop..

You should of arrived here from Melisa's blog,  if you just stopped by and want to join the hop, please start at Lisa's blog by clicking HERE

For today's hop we were to create projects for gift giving and we used lots of cute files that can be found in the pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbon store..

I decided to make some gift bags (Oval Window Treat Bag cutting file) and when I started with one, I just couldn't stop and ended up making three..LOL  These really were THAT much fun to make..

Are these cute or what?..LOL

This is the first one I created.. Used the Scalloped Circles for the cookies and then added white leaves (Falling leaves cutting file) with diamond Stickles on them..  I  shadowed the scalloped oval surrounding the window, I wanted a layered look..

Check out this cute bear.. He's in the "Forest Critters" Cutting file and so is that tree, which I cut in half and instead of having a green top, I wanted it snowy so cut it in white :)  The snowflakes are in the Snowflakes cutting file..

and my personal favorite (because its pink)..  I added the layered snowflakes from the snowflakes cutting file and cut them as one instead of each layer individually :)  also added a flourish and silver ribbon..

We also have some cute blog candy for you :

Merry Christmas card-PPPR reveal

Happy Hump Day fellow scrappers..
I'm here today to share with you the first Xmas card I created for this year :)  I have a very special friend who I will be sending this to but I can't share who it is, just in case she's stopped by today and reads my post..LOL
I found this adorable cutting file of the stocking in the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbon store.. Designing this card was a lot of fun and I love being able to fill in the die cuts with prints and colors using the SIL software.. No more cutting little pieces of printed paper and sticking them all over the cutting mat.. Makes card making quick and so much fun :)
Oh, before I forget, here's my card..LOL

Picture's aren't the best quality, but we don't get much day light this time of year :)  When I drive home around 3pm from work, the street lights start to light up.. yikes!!

how about some close ups:

For supplies used for this card:

SIL software
SIL cameo die cutter

Project Life reveal: Scalloped Circle

Hello fellow lifer's..
Do you love Project Life or are you thinking about start on an album of your own?.. Well, us girls over at SOUS have been doing some real fun PL challenges to inspire you to get started on your album.. I decided for this weeks reveal, to get our bowling weekend into my PL album..
My hubby's company took all of the employees out bowling a few weeks ago and we also served everyone a really good home cooked meal :)

I love using the SIL software to create my own PL cards and this week is no exception LOL  used some die cuts from the SIL store, which i just pieced together, filled them colors and prints, then attached them to cards.  Cutting only the cards and not having to piece together little cuts.. Oh, and the best part is, I can also add my photos straight onto the cards and print them all the same time.. Quick and easy..
so, here's my PL page and remember to click on the photo to make it bigger.. We're low on natural light so the photos aren't the best quality :(

as I designed my cards in the SIL software, you can do this with the free version as long as you don't want to cut SVG files..

This is what the design looks like in the SIL software before I printed and cut the cards:

How about some close ups of the cards:

Got balls??..LOL

My hubby on the left and oen of our employees on the right, <--who at="" end="" night..="" of="" p="" pot="" the="" won="">

The pins and ball are a die cut.. which I pieced together using the software and then just printed them onto the card..

My boys.. Oldest son Aaron is standing in the back and our youngest son Adam who just had knee surgery is sitting down taking it easy.. He was unable to bowl :(

My son Aaron getting ready to throw his ball..LOL
as you can tell, we lots of fun and it was a crazy night.. Those are the best kind..LOL

for supplies used:

SIL software
SIL cameo
Canon printer

white cardstock

SIL store cutting files:
bowling pins and ball
arrows
NOV card
Bowl phrase
Live for the Moment phrase

Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons store:
scalloped circle

and there ya have it.. As you can tell from the list of supplies, this was a quick and fun project..
Now, I'm off to work on my very first December Daily.. gulp! feeling a bit nervous..LOL

Now, its your your turn to stop by SOUS and check out what amazing PL pages our design team has created for today's reveal and we have some new faces that were added to your team so please say HI..
Hope you have a scrap-tastic week
