Best Buds-SOUS reveal April 29th

I just realized that this is the last sketch reveal for April..wow, how fast time flies !
We chose a semi simple, but yet elegant sketch to celebrate the end of April.. I loved it and was able to once again, add my own twist to the sketch.. The butterflies inspired me so much, that I wanted to add flowers !!..LOL yea, what else is new right?..LOL
so, here is my take on our sketch:
I wanted to keep the background colors real simple with greys and light browns and then the color actually coming from the flowers and butterflies.. Thought that they would stick out a bit more.. I absolutely love how this layout came out..
The photos are of my daughter Amber and her doggy Tudor.. These pics were taken last summer at her boyfriends summer cabin, they were out boating and then fishing.. She no longer has Tudor because she realized that she didn't have enough time for him and now he is owned by a young couple with two small children that have lots of time for him.. They loved him the minute they seen him.. He is a real sweetheart!!

here is the sketch that I used to create this layout:
I made a journaling tag instead of just writing directly on the layout.. this way I was able to print out the text with my computer instead of my own handwriting..LOL

and for a few close ups of the layout:

Summer Beauty-DT for Generations Crafting

For this layout, I used Bo Bunny's Vicky B papers, cut the big circle with my cricut then added the pink lace trim and the string of pearls.. I then added a smaller doily behind the photo mat and yet again, added pink lace and string of pearls to that.. Glued down the "Stop & smell the flowers" and then started clustering my flowers, starting with the biggest green one and working my way out.. The title font stickers are Basic Grey and the white flowers and leaves are by Iamroses..  The flourish I cut using my cricut..

and for some close ups:

These new Primas are absolutely mouth watering..

well ladies.. that does it for me for this post..
I want to thank you all so very much for stopping by and looking.
I certainly hope I have inspired you to grab your Primas and get cooking up something creative today..
If you dont' have any primas yet, do stop by Generations Crafting and check out what a wonderful selection she has !!

I've been dying to make a masculine layout for the longest time now and when my son Adam handed me his school pics, I knew exactly what I wanted to make..
I created some gears a few weeks back and this was the perfect opportunity to use them along with some chains, screw head brads and other metal embellishments I found in my stash.. I love the way this layout turned out..
I also found some Graphic45 papers in my stash and thought those would be perfect for this layout..
 Here is the sketch:

best part of these sketch's is that you really can make it your own.. feel inspired to create your own masterpiece.  :)

and for some close ups:

Little Wild Flowers-DT for Generations

ladies.. I promised a few more posts using Prima's awesome and beautiful flowers and I plan on keeping that promise..
This is another layout I made for Generations Crafting..

I used Basic Grey "Green At Heart" paper collection and mostly Prima flowers..
I added the doily for the trim to give it some more flair and then added the string of pearl with glossy accents.. best stuff cause it dries clear!!
All the pink flowers are Prima's and then the little white ones I found at my craft store and the leaves are by I am roses..  The title stickers came with the "green at heart" collection..  Oh and I added a little hat pin with a charm on it that says "play".. The photos are of my Amber when she was first learning how to walk.. Gosh, that seems like ions ago..(don't tell her I said that..LOL)
and for a few close ups:

Thank you ladies so much stopping by today and having a look at what I've created..
I hope you all have wonderful rest of the week...

Famili Mini Album

Sad to say, its Sunday and tomorrow starts yet another work week :(
But with a nice relaxing Sunday comes time to create..So, I was asked by my co-worker to make her mom a mini album and she handed me a bunch of pictures of them when they were little.. After going though the lot, I decided to make a Family mini .. Thought it would go best with the photos I had to work with..
and so.. Here it is:
This is a  6x6 chipboard mini album.. I bought some Bo Bunny refills from Floren over at Generations Crafting cause they really are inexpensive and they are so easy work with.. no cutting chipboard or punching holes, Hallelujah!!..LOL

lets ge to the insides:
the tag says: All because two people fell in love.. I added crackle accents to the tag.. it blurred the text just a little bit.. not sure if thats normal or not.. but I stuck with it.. then on the right I added three small journaling tags.. she can write down all kinds of memories on there..
once you flip the little memories page, you get to this page.. and the tag says: "Love makes a family!".. This is my co-worker when she was a baby with her mom and dad..
Here I added another photo of her holding the babydoll and the journaling says "Thank heavens for little girls!"
then their is an accetate tag, which also has a photo of her and her mom..
flip the accetate tag and this is what the little pocket opens up to..
their are photos of her with her grandparents and then the top is of her and her dad..
the tag says "A grandparents love is forever!"..
She said they are no longer with us, so I'm sure this will be a very special page for her mom.
On this page, she had some photos of them (siblings) dancing and thought it was an absolutely adorable photo.. I added the text "Together, its the place to be!"..
and on the left had side is a flip open photo matt , where I have added a photo of all three kids.. and it says "Yours, Mine and Ours!".. and I also added a pull out tag onto the side, where she can fill in more of the photos details..
for this page, I found a photo of them playing in a berry field.. so, thought it was a nice picture to add since it has her grandfather in it as well.. and the text says " A family that plays together, stays together!"..
the right side is an accetate page, which I stampped some images on it and added bling.. with a photo of all three kids together..
flip the accetate page and you have an envelope pocket page.. Inside is a photo of to go with the berry field photo and I added a journaling spot on the inside as well..
and for the very last pages..
on the left is a birthday page  and is says " another year older!" and on the right, a christmas page with all three kids together and it say s" Through out the years!"..

I thought these photos were the best selection for this mini album.. It really was difficult to create this using someone elses photos, since they are her memories and not mine.. I hope she likes this mini cause I love it!!
It was a lot of hard work and took me a long time to complete..
I want to thank you all so much for stopping by and taking a look.. It really means a lot to me..
Have a great week and creative week everyone..
Spring-e Hugs :)

Prima Flower DT project for Generations Crafting

Was I surpised when I got a surprise package from Floren Boynton over at Generations Crafting and when I opened it, it had a bunch of beautiful Prima flowers in it.. I contacted Floren and she asked if I would create something with them.. yeah, I'd Loooooove to..
I love flowers, so it was my pleasure...LOL
For this layout, I thought to use the orange flowers and then then some of the little orange roses, which I thought were brilliant and so cute..
I used a plain white carstock base, added a Websters Pages dye cut which I had cut , then added brown cardstock for the photos mat with a yellow one on top of that.. Hand made a vine, first I added the leaves and then adding the Primas after I had wired the vine to the layout
(makes it easier to postition the flowers this way)..
finally adding a few ribbon blows and pearl drops.. Oh, and the very last thing I did was clear emboss the butterflies (which I stamped) and then using Tim Holts distress inks: Mustard seed and Vintage photo, I inked all around the edges of the white cardstock, wipping the excess ink off of the embossed images with a paper towel..  "Summer" is cut from the Storybook cartridge and the "lazy Days!" are stickers from Basic Grey.
I think this came out pretty cool looking..

Here are some close ups of the layout:

For supplised used:
Papers by : Websters pages
cardstock: White, brown and yellow
ribbon
Prima Flowers: small roses
Prima Flowers: Large flower
Prima Flowers: Medium Orange flowers
Vine: hand made from crating wire and green flower tape
Pearl drops
string of pearl
Time Holtz Embossing ink
Tim Holtz Butterfly stamp
Clear embossing powder
Heat gun
Tim Holtz distress inks: Mustard Seed and Vintage Photo

Cricut cartridges:
Storybook: title "Summer"
Basic Grey font stickers: title "lazy days of"

Well, that should about do it for this weeks DT project for Generations Crafting, but be on the look out, there are more to come in the next few weeks.. I can't wait to share them with you!!
Do stop by Generations Crafting cause she's got an awesome selection of Primas..
Thank you all so very much for stopping and taking a look at what I've created..

Whimsical Wednesday Challenge reveal

Happy Hump day everybody :)  I love Wednesday almost as much as I love Fridays.. and this week I have an extra reason to love Wednesdays.. Its reveal time over the new challenge blog known as "Whimsical Wednesdays!"..  This week we were challenged to make a layout that was either Spring or Easter themed and it had to have a critter or insect on it...and So, here is my take on this weeks challenge...LOL
I appologize for the dark picture, but its been none stop raining here in Finland with absolutely no sunshine whats so ever!! but that can only mean one thing right? The snow will melt and all the pretty spring flowers will start blooming!!

Now, I dont' have any photos of my kids with the Easter bunny, since I live in Finland and its just not possible here..So, I had to come up with another idea.  I'm sure you all figured out that I dont' scrap myself much (almost never) and when I thought of what to create for this challenge,  the title to my layout just kind of popped into my head and everything just forward from there..
I love the silliness of this layout, its soooo me!!

here are a few close ups of the layout:

 And for Supplises used:
Cricut cartridges:
Country life: clothes line, lady, horse and fence, chickens, mouse and wash tub
Pooh and Friends: grass, clouds and tulips
Doodlecharms: ladybugs and sun
Stretch your imagination: title "spring"
Cindy Loo: title " I ain't no, chicken!"
George and basic shapes: large background circle

Cuttlebug and Dots embossing folder
Inks: Tim holtz: Mustard seed and Peeled paint
Inks: Verca color: pink and light blue
Chalks for shadowing

Papers by : Do Crafts "papermania" Rose Garden

and zig two way glue stick

That about does it then!!
I want to thank you ladies so much stopping by today and looking at what I've created for Whimsical Wednesdays' and I certainly hope this layout put a smile on your face, cause it sure does for me!!

Words to Live By- Frosted Designs Reveal

I have to admit, I'm having the best time playing around with all of these different sketches and really opening my eyes to all of the many possibilities that these sketches can bring..
for instance this one I used as my design team project for Frosted Designs Tuesday's sketch challenge..

So, here is my take on this weeks sketch:

I really wanted to make of these fabulous ruffled banners that our very own Annette over SOUS was kind enough to share a tutorial for.. Kudos to you Annette..!! and if you love them as much as I do, just click
HERE and it will take you straight to the tute...
So, instead of cutting a scalloped border, I made the ruffles.. Love them!!

I always try to make these sketches my own and get inspired by them.. Because I added the roses on the bottom border, I had to move the flower cluster up.. and then wanted the title to reflect the writing on her t-shirt which says " I love being Awesome!"..so, I added the big arrow..
by the way, that t-shirt fits her like a glove..LOL

here is the sketch I followed:

super cute sketch, don't ya think.. Lots of room to play around with..
and for a few close ups of the layout:

Here is a close up of the title and flower cluster.. oh and I love this photo of her ..I'm her best Facebook stalker, I'm always there looking at possible photos I can nab..LOL
and you can also see in this pic, how I emboss stampped some flowers in the upper corner, heat set them with clear embossing powder and then inked over them with Tim Holtz distress inks..

Here is a close up of the ruffled banner with the roses, which are by prima.. love them!! so super cute..

and a fuzzy close up of the t-shirt..LOL
she was coming to work( we work together) and I snapped this pic of her before she got dressed in her work uniform..
