for instance this one I used as my design team project for Frosted Designs Tuesday's sketch challenge..
So, here is my take on this weeks sketch:
I really wanted to make of these fabulous ruffled banners that our very own Annette over SOUS was kind enough to share a tutorial for.. Kudos to you Annette..!! and if you love them as much as I do, just click
HERE and it will take you straight to the tute...
So, instead of cutting a scalloped border, I made the ruffles.. Love them!!
I always try to make these sketches my own and get inspired by them.. Because I added the roses on the bottom border, I had to move the flower cluster up.. and then wanted the title to reflect the writing on her t-shirt which says " I love being Awesome!"..so, I added the big arrow..
by the way, that t-shirt fits her like a glove..LOL
here is the sketch I followed:
super cute sketch, don't ya think.. Lots of room to play around with..
and for a few close ups of the layout:
Here is a close up of the title and flower cluster.. oh and I love this photo of her ..I'm her best Facebook stalker, I'm always there looking at possible photos I can nab..LOL
and you can also see in this pic, how I emboss stampped some flowers in the upper corner, heat set them with clear embossing powder and then inked over them with Tim Holtz distress inks..
Here is a close up of the ruffled banner with the roses, which are by prima.. love them!! so super cute..
and a fuzzy close up of the t-shirt..LOL
she was coming to work( we work together) and I snapped this pic of her before she got dressed in her work uniform..
