Happy Sunday ladies...
I have laundry duty today, First of all, I hate doing laundry, seems like a never ending story..LOL
but in between loads I get to create.. yeah me!!..
The girls over at Frosted Designs have a "USE PAINT" challenge going and I decided to paint these wood letters I had in my stash for atleast 6 months now.. Just never got around to doing anything with them..
And now, was just the perfect opportunity to finally get the finished and in my kitchen where they belong..
Here is a before picture:
just plain jane wooden letterns..
I bought these from an interior design store here in Finland cause I can't seem to find simple letters at any hardware store.. yeah, I can't believe it either...
I own only four different Distress Crackle paints and used those on the letters.
starting with "walnut stain, then *"Picket Fence", "Tattered Rose" and finally "Shabby Shutters". Once the paint was dry, I rubbed some distressed inks all over them with my ink applicator..
"Vintage Photo"", Shabby Shutters" and finally added some "Black Soot" to the very edges..
Here is what I ended up with:
Close up of the crackle and distressing..
The C and O would not stand up straight up against the wall, so they are kind of leaning on each other for support..LOL
I went to add some ripped pieces of paper, but once I had the first two letters done, I really didn't like the look, so I tore it off and then inked what ever paper was left on..
I was going for an old primitive country look..
Here is what they look like in my kitchen:
I'm going to make a wooden stand for them, so they can stand freely and not up agains the wall..
Okey Dokey.. thats my Sunday project.. well, atleast one of them.. busy busy busy today finishing up some layouts and a xmas Mini album I started a few weeks ago.. hope them get them posted soon..
thank you ladies so much for looking and do stop by Frosted Design and join in on their Paint challenge.. I'm so glad I did... :)
Have a great and Creative Weekend (whats left of it) everyone..LOL
Hugs
Nanné
