Happy Happy Happy Hump Day fellow scrappers.. anyone a Duck Dynasty fan? I am.. I love that family, they are so cute and funny..
But before I forget why you all are here, let me share a little card I created for this weeks challenge for Whimsical Designs..
We were asked to create a SHAPED card and it got my brain a brewin to see what I could create using the Silhouette Design Edition software.. Rummaged through some of the many fonts that I've been hoarding (I'm sure you all are just as guilty of that as I am, so don't judge me. LOL)
Finally found a big chunky one and decided to create a word card for my god niece who's going to turn 17 this month.. Where has the time gone?...
so, here's what I came up with:
The card measures 6" x 3", if I remember correctly. since it was my first attempt at creating the entire card by welding letters together and then doing the offset for the base, it caught me off guard and instead of being smart and welding it from the top, I welded it from the side making it so long that ended up being a 6" long card..DOH! I know better for next time..LOL
so, how's about a few close ups:
What girl doesn't like a little bling action,
I added some swirls of pearls..
The flowers are a die that I found in the Silhouette online store..
love these happy prints.. reminded me of a teenage girl..
and what a perfect sentiment for my card.. I also added a few drops of liquid pearls, in pink and baby blue..
I inked the edges of the letters before gluing them down to the base of the card.. I used pink, light blue, tan and black by Colorbox inks..
