Winter Wonderland-Sketch Challenge SOUS

Hello fellow scrappers!!
Its another sketch reveal for us girls over at S.O.US and this weeks sketch was designed by me..  Although, its focused on Halloween, I decided to make a winter layout with it instead.. Here in Finland we dont' really celebrate Halloween as I've said before, so I decided to play with my Imagine and the Mr.Frosty background cartridge that I got as a gift from Margie.. She was such a sweety for sharing it with me..

Here is the sketch:

so, here is my take on our sketch:

I had so much fun playing with methods and techniques I haven't done in a long time..
The prints and colors ( I love pink) are all printed on white cardstock using the Mr.Frosty background cartridge..
I did some heat embossing on the stamped flourish as well..
love that technique, one of my all time fav's..

How about a few close ups and some details:
The title is from the Winter Woodland cartridge as are the birds..
I cut the shadow in a light tan and then the basic image in cream.. I've inked all of the edges of the shadow cuts with a light brown ink.. Added a bunch of pearl drops with liquid pearls and then added some faux snow using Snow Tex.

The deer and trees are on the Christmas cartridge, the little bunny is on the Winter Woodland cartridge.. I used a martha stewart edge punch for the trim around the marquee and the little strip on the photo mat.. added faux snow to the trees and lamp post using Snow Tex.

I love how the snow effect gave this layout a great winter feel.. The lamp post is on the Christmas cartridge..
The pink snow flake background paper can be found on the Imagines Mr.Frosty cartridge..

All of the little white roses are prima and the twigs are a Martha Stewart punch.. I added some white liquid pearls to the centers of the tiny roses for some shimmer.. They look great in person!!

Die Cut Challenge-SOUS Oct19th

Hellooooo Fellow scrappers..
Us girls over at S.O.U.S are having our die cut reveal today and for this weeks challenge, we were asked to use  PUMPKIN or VEGETABLE on our project..
I found some photos of my daughter and her friend Tina from last Halloween when they went clubbing to a local club.  They had painted their faces and from what I hear, they had a great time ..LOL  We don't celebrate Halloween here in that traditional American way, but its coming around.. The kids get to dress up for school and of course, the teens/young adults always have something planned..

so anyway, here is my take on our challenge:

I was trying to stick with just three colors and tones.. I like the way this layout turned out..
It's Halloweeny, but in an adult sort of way..LOL

here are some close ups of this layout:

The font for title is from Winter Woodland cartridge.

The pumpkin I created with some oval cuts from George and Basic Shapes.. I wanted to stick with the colors you see.. Didn't want to add any green for example.. Thought the layout turned out pretty cool!!

This cute little witch Silhouette is from A Childs Year catridge..

For supplies used:

Cricut Craftroom free design software

Cricut Imagine die cutter

Imagine cartridges for color palette:
Kates Kitchen (oranges)
Hey Diddle Diddle (gray's and black)

Regular Cricut Cartridges:

George and Basic Shapes:

Here is the sketch I created:

and this is the layout I created which was inspired by the sketch:

I haven't created anything with Basic Grey papers and decided that for this project I would grab my Marjolaine collection (or what was left of it) and decided to put it to good use..

here are some close ups:

The flowers I created myself with my cricut and several punches.
The bling I bought at the scrapbook Expo I went to in Palm Beach Co Florida last month.

I also bought the branch punch by Martha Stewart while on vacay.. one of my best buys!

The title I also cut with my Cricut and Kate's ABC's cartridge.. the banner is all hand cut and the small flowers are a punch. lots of little pearl drops that I created using White liquid pearls by Ranger.. love that stuff..LOL

for supplies used:

Kate's ABC's cricut cartridge
Mother's Day bouquet: large flowers and leaves

Creepy Crawly SOUS die cut reveal-Oct5th

Wow.. it sure has seemed like forever since I posted last..LOL   As most of you know, I was on vacation and then as soon as we got back we had to some renovating and that took my scrappy heaven away from me.. Now, I'm stuck in the living room..LOL  and of all things, my old computer crapped out on me, again.  I borrowed it from younger son, who bought himself a new one.. He warned me lots of time that it could crap out at anytime and what do you know, it did just that.. Only problem, I once again have all of my photos on that hard drive..Doh!.. My son is going to try to get all those photos out of there for me, but its going to take some time..  I don't have a photo for this layout unfortunately, just yet..LOL
So, after getting settled in and getting ALL of my crafty goodies put in their rightful place, I found a hours of free time to create this layout for today's reveal..
I have to admit, I absolutely love this layout and I had so much fun adding those creepy spiders to it.. eeeeeeeek..LOL
I will put a photo of my daughter and her friend Tina from last year when the local night club had a Halloween night happening..

ok ok ok.. lets get to the good stuff shall we:

This is another layout I originally created with Cricut Craftroom one night when I had nothing better to do..LOL  but really ladies, is there anything better than designing your next project?.. I think not..LOL

so, this is what the layout looked like on the virtual mat of CCR:
I did change a few things, like the scalloped square and the placement of the one spider..

How about a few close ups and some details:
The phrases are on the Happy Hauntings cartridge and the spiders along with the web are on October 31st. The moon is a circle cut from George and Basic Shapes.

These scary pumpkins are on Happy Hauntings..  I actually like them for more mature layouts.

close up of the spider and web.. plus the tree, which is also on the Happy Hauntings cartridge, its the 3D tree, but I only needed the one..LOL
I love the fence with the crow.. I cut two of them and added some dots with my white paint marker..The scalloped square is on the Winter Woodland cartridge.  it has a snow flake cut on the middle, but I covered that with some colored cardstock :)

for supplies used:

Cricut Craftroom: for design
Cricut Imagine for printing and cutting the die cuts

Imagine cartridges for color pallet:
Kate's Kitchen and Hey, Diddle Diddle
