Brand Spanking New

Ello, Ello, Ello ladies...LOL  TGIF and its reveal time at SOUS again.. Oh I had a blast with this weeks sketch and I think with this layout you can really see how versatile these sketches can be..

I really really really wanted to make a masculine layout of my boys and that meant no flowers and no stickles !!:O(
I love the way this layout turned out and so did my boys!!  They are a real hard crowd to please...LOL  :O)

I made this for our Christmas album and figured that all of the gift pages will be done this same way, with no Christmas cuts on them,  but focusing more on the gift and the expressions..

Here are a few close ups and all of the details to making this layout.

I had made a new years resolution to start using cartridges that I haven't used in a long time.. For this layout I used 3 of them: Graphically Speaking, Locker Talk and Indie Art..

This is a close up of the upper left side, I had so much fun piecing together the guitar and took me forever to find the musical notes..Finally found them on JOTS (joys of the season) cart..

I figured with two teenage boys that I really could use the "parental Advisory" cut cause of the lyrics in the music they will be listening to...LOL

A close ups of the bottom right.. The IPODs look great and I was actually really surprised when I found them accidentally on the Locker Talk cart.. I was like "Wow!"...

The 24 days of Christmas

TGIF ladies... and its once again reveal time at SOUS...
We are so happy to be posting the sketch challenges again.. The holidays were great but its a blessing to get back to normal...

Well... Here is my take on this weeks sketch challenge.. I don't have any big pictures, so I decided to add my twist to the layout and do the advent calendar instead..
My kids get an advent calendar every year.. Because they are all teenagers, they have asked for a scratch off calendar instead of the regular chocolate ones they used to get..
so, every morning they get to scratch off a part of the calendar and collect the little symbols and hope by the end of the 24 days they have collected enough of one symbol to win MONEY!!! 10,000 euros was this years jackpot.. My son Aaron won 5€ and I won a whopping 7€...LOL
but its not about the winnings, but the excitement of trying to win...

Here are some close ups and the details to the making of this layout..

JAVA blocks

Hi everyone...
I made these wooden deco blocks for my best friend who lives in sunny Florida..
She loves coffe just like I do and has her kitchen set up with a coffee theme..
I really wanted to make something personal for her and this is what I came up with..

I actually took a hand saw and cut some pieces from a 2 x 4.. I cut them different sizes, then sand papered them and painted them.  When dry, I sand papered the edges and distressed them with Tim Holtz distress ink (black).. I cut the letters using the WINTER WOODLAND cartridge and then added some detail using the HOME DECOR and JOYS OF THE SEASON cartridges..

Here are a few close ups..

Very simple to make and so much fun too..

Home Decor:

Waitig for Santa

Happy New Year everyone..
I've been really busy with the holidays and finally got a few minutes (days actually) to get a layout finished..
My DD actually came up with the title and I came up with the layout theme..
Our dog slept under the tree everyday before Christmas.. The tree skirt was so wrinkled from him making "his bed" and at times the tree skirt wasn't even under the tree...
Then the gifts got put under the tree and he couldn't fit under there anymore...
Oh! and before I forget he liked picking the ornaments off of the tree one by one.. His favorites were the one's shaped like Ice Cream cones.. They were the first to go...LOL  :O)

Here are some close ups of the layout and all of the supplies needed.

The title... I won't lie, I actually re-made the colors on the title 3 times, cause I could not decided which looked the best..But, this is what I decided on..Looks pretty good...LOL

Oh my favorite part of the layout...The waiting in the window...I pieced this window together using cuts from the George cartridge.. The curtains are actually a "mini skirt" cut off of the Paper Doll Dress Up cartidge...LOL   and for a final touch, I added some white liquid pearl to the corners of the window for that frosty snowy look..

first of all...So sorry this photo is a bit blurry.. but you can still see the fine detail.. all of the ornaments are cut using "A childs Year "cartridge.. I stickled the tops with silver and tied a red ribbon around the bone..
