Vintage- Whimsical Designs reveal

Boy is it hot, hot, hot.. I can't recall when its been this hot in this country since I've moved here and that was back in 1996.. I shouldn't complain since we had an extremely cold and long winter, but still.. Come on now!! a little heat would be ok, but this is ridiculous..LOL
I'm done venting about the weather and so lets get to the goodies shall we..  For this weeks challenge we were asked to create a project that has a VINTAGE look to it.. After doing a little research (since I dont' do much vintage) I came up with a great design using my SIL design edition and made this beautiful card:
I'm so in love with this color scheme and yes, I did create all of the die cuts myself..
I had a hard time choosing a sentiment for this card, only cause there were so many to choose from..LOL  I decided to go with this one cause this will be sent to my besty in Florida for her Birthday at the end of this month :)

Here's a front view.. did some embossing on the back and added lots of layering with foam tape..

I used my distress tool to rip up the edges of the papers, inked em up using Vintage Photo distress ink.. added lace trim and say it with pearls..

close up of the flowers and cameo..  I wish I would of made the middle of the cameo more 3d with foam tape, I think it would of stuck out more, even with a little inking of the edges..  The grey flowers and marquee were inked with Weathered Wood distress ink.

different angle.. as you can see, lots of layers and lots of pearls..
I love using pearls on vintage projects..

  6. I hear you about the weather too. We had 90's all weekend then it dropped back down to chilly and now it is pouring pouring rain. I actually prefer this over the hot and humid 90's! Your card is stunning. I love this color scheme as well. Peach has always been my fav color. I think your cameo is perfect because the flowers are very dimensional and the cameo is behind it. Great job doing some research it paid off because you totally pulled this off:)

  7. Nanne, you need to move to Northern WI. We can't seem to get out of the 50's. We've seen 6 hours of sun so far this month, and that was the morning of June 1. Blah! But enough of that. Your card is FANTASTIC! Love all the cameo cuts! And it's very vintage in feel. Wonderful! Fellow DT sister, Julie O
