Sweet Girl- CE reveal

Hi fellow scrappers.. I'm here sharing a layout that I created as my design team project for Creative Embellishments, using lots of CE goodies..  As you've seen in the past, I absolutely love creating my own backgrounds using white cardstock, some Distress Oxides and background stamps.. It gives your layouts such originality..

And with that said, here is what I've created:

I started off by rubbing some Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide around the edges of the cardstock, then adding background stamping using the Distresses Script, Moroccan and crackle stamp..  when adding just a little bit of paper, you can save by using a 6x6 stack instead of a 12x12, like I have on this layout.

How about a few close ups and some details:

One of my all time favorites photos of my grand daughter when she was a baby.. I layered my papers and added some fun chippies around my photo..   for my title sentiment, I chose Sweet Girl from the Girl Word set..  I used the Worn Lipstick Distress ink to color the word Sweet and then white paint to color the word Girl and the hearts from Hearts set, adding some white Nuvo drops for accent.

I love these Distressed Harlequin Pieces, I used frayed burlap Distress Oxide to color them, then added tiny pink roses, White Nuvo drops and tiny art stones to them.. These are great little accents, easy to use cause of the size..

I also used half of the lace border 3. I cut the half into two pieces, this way I could tuck some on the left and the right side of the photo mat.. I also colored it with distress oxides..
Thank you for stopping by today and checking out my layout.. I have listed all of the items used at the bottom of this post..
Till next time.

Sweetie -CE reveal

Hi fellow scrappers and chipboard lovers..
I'm here today to share another winter themed layout that I created as my design team project for Creative Embellishments. I've been feeling a bit under the weather cause its flu season here in Finland and although I'm haven't been feeling good, I still don't want to fall out of routine.. So, to help me get creative while my brain is all stuffed up, I decided to find a sketch and create my layout with it..

 Here is what I created:

I once again started my layout process with just a plane piece of white cardstock.. I then inked the edges with distress oxides, added my stamping using the Distressed Crackle and Distressed Script stamps, finally adding some stars using the Stars stencil and distress oxides and snowflakes using the snowflakes stencil and texture paste in white.

I used a 6x6 paper stack by My Minds' eye and cut the papers into strips, which I then adhered them to a thick piece of corrugated cardboard, which gave some depth to my layout, I then attacked my snowflakes (in different sizes) along with some flowers and leaves to match my colors.. I wanted to stay with pink, green and tan, which were the main colors of the papers I chose to use..

For the right top corner of my layout, I wanted to add a little something, so grabbed a name place, which I then cut into two pieces, tucking one side behind the paper strips, adding the snowflakes and then some flowers..

and there you have my cute little winter themed layout..
thank you for stopping by today, till next time

Frosty layout: CE Monthly challenge

Hi fellow scrappers.. I'm here today to share a layout with you that I created for the monthly challenge over at Creative Embellishments.. We have an amazing inspiration photo for the month of January and you have all month to play along with us..

Here is the photo:
I absolutely loved this months inspiration photo, it felt nice and "Frosty!"..

Here is my layout that I created using the inspiration photo:
I used some of my favorite papers for this layout and they are by Bo Bunny, lots of chipboard goodies and flowers from my stash (trying to use up my stash to make room for new)..

How about a few close ups:

These scroll sets are my favorite, they are so pretty and easy to use.. I painted mine white and added a few drops of silver Nuvo drops for accent.. Tucked it underneath the bottom of my photo and then added a cluster of flowers to the corner..

I only used two sheets of paper from collection, but because they are two sided, I was able to get more for my money (so to speak), I also used some of the corrugated papers I have been holding onto.. they are 6x6 but once you start ripping them apart, you also get more for your money..

Now, for the title sentiment.. I painted it white and then covered it with Star Dust Stickles.. It was so hard to photograph the glitter look to it..but it turned out super frosty..
I also used 9 snow flakes from the chipboard snowflakes set, definitely get more in that set.. I painted them white and light blue with distress oxides and then placed them on my layout..
and because the challenge asked to add texture, I used the snowflake stencil and some texture paste to add some soft snowflakes to the background, along with the distressed text stamp on the edges..

all right..
That is my layout for our January challenge.. I hope you were inspired and would like to play along with us this month over at Creative Embellishments.. If so, just click HERE and it will re-direct you to the CE blog..

Till next time..
