Adventure- CE daily

Hi fellow scrappers...
I'm here to share a fun travel themed layout I created as my design team project for Creative Embellishments, using an old photo of myself that was taken by my daughter on our very first trip back to the States since we had moved to Finland back in 1996.. I think the photo was taken in 2008 and we got to spend 5 glorious weeks with our family and friends in Florida and in Iowa... Wow! those chairs were bright..LOL
Here the layout I created:

I love that chipboard plane, sets off my layout perfectly :)

I used some of the arrows on my layout from arrows chipboard set..
Love the fact that I get to point at things on my layout :) The small letters on the side are from the Basic alphabet set..I get a lot of use out of that set..

the globe is definitely a favorite of mine.. I trimmed it just a bit and so I was able to have parts of it on top of my photo mats..
I also used some of the small circles background panel to tuck in under my photo mat.. that is a great element and goes a long way.

I used one of the film strips for the bottom corner of my layout.. I cut it in half, and tucked it behind some of the flowers..
all of the chipboard elements were painted with brown paint and then I added some drops of white paint, which is by Ranger.
The background stamp I used is the distressed checkered by Creative Embellishments

CE and Petaloo cross promo hop

Hi everyone..
I created a "Mommy to be" page of my daughter who is expecting her first baby as my design team project for our cross promo blog hop for Creative Embellishments and Petaloo..

I just found out about a month ago and it's been an exciting journey for both of us so far..  I wanted to capture this moment by adding several photos to my layout.. One of my daughter and then of course her positive pregnancy test :)

I used lots of Creative Embellishment goodies on my layout, I cut the fancy rectangle frame into four pieces, which I was able to cover several corners with it, I then used half of the heart lace border, tucking it under my photo and above my flower cluster.

Adding a leaf flourish which I painted several different shades of green and rubbing some gold on the edges..

my title which is in the Magical word set, under the flowers I added the little zipper from the zipper set,

a few feathers from the feather set and finally a swirly arrow from the arrow banner set..
All of the chipboard elements are painted white with some green tones added to the edges, finally rubbed with Inka Gold .

All of the flowers, leaves and butterflies I used are the new Darjeeling collection by Petaloo: Garden RosetteMini Butterflies( tea stained pink) and Petites (teastained pink).

Thanks for stopping by today..
Till next time

Imagine-CE monthly challenge reveal

Hi fellow scrappers.
I'm here today to share our April monthly challenge reveal over at Creative Embellishments and its a fun one :)
I decided to scrap ahead and created a non photo layout for todays challenge reveal.. My daughter is pregnant and I will be adding a few big tummy photos to this layout in a few months :)

Here is my layout:
I fell in love with these cute bunny chippies and when I looked at them, I knew they needed to be fluffy..

I grabbed my Snowflake paste by Finnabair and covered the chippies with that..adding some pink ink to the ears.

For the grass, I used the seagrass chippies and painted them using two different tones of green. I cut them in half and placed them randomly at the bottom of my layout.

I also used one of the flourishes, cutting it in two pieces.. adding one to each side of the layout..painted it using  green and blue paint..
the title is from the Dream word set and I decided to leave it the original color.. loved the contrast it created..
I also added one of the butterflies from the Monarch butterfly set.. painted it to match my layout and then added some green gems to the center.. I also randomly placed some of the mini circle panel pieces here and there, tucking some under my photo frame and then flowers..adding some mini green gems to it..

Thanks for stopping by today..
till next time

Enchanting: CE daily

Hi fellow scrappers..
I'm here today to share a layout I created as my design team project for Creative Embellishments and the layout is of my daughter using some of the fantasy themed chipboard elements from the Creative Embellishment store and using Faber Castell Gelatos..

I found this stack of papers at my local craft store and absolutely fell in love with the blues and green tones, so used my Faber Castell Gelatos to color the chippies to match my color scheme..  Gelatos are so super easy to use, you can just rub them onto your chippies using your fingers :)

I used some of the berries and tucked them behind my photo mat and flowers..
added a few drops of liquid pearl in light blue to add some detail.

I adore these cute tiny fairies and have this one holding a little love tag which I fussy cut from the paper collection..  I also used the gelato's to color the title to my layout, Enchanting. Adding some of blues and greens to match the layout..

thank you for stopping by today and checking out my layout.
till next time

It's Our Time-altered art-CE daily

Hi fellow scrappers..
I'm  here to share an altered clock I created as my design team project for Creative Embellishments using an cheap alarm clock I had purchased from IKEA several months ago, with the intention of altering it at some point..
Here is my project:
I used Gesso to first cover the clock, then used several shades of acrylic paint to create the patina look..
how about a few close ups:
side view, where you can see all of the layers I created using some of the CE chippies.
I also covered the front with some of the flowers I had in my stash.

Thank you for stopping by and checking out my altered art project..
till next time
